Ceili
Country, the New Jersey Irish band, is unique and versatile.
We offer a musical event of pure Irish music and dance.
Although this is our specialty we also play country, bluegrass, western
swing, jazz, dixieland, Italian, and classic rock and roll.
The Ceili
Country sound combines guitar, banjo, mandolin, hand drums, and bass with
tight three-part harmony. We have a
warm string band sound with an infectious rhythm
Should audience participation and dancing be part of your interest we can
include familiar sing-along tunes, Irish step dancing, and a marching band of
bagpipes and drums.

Richard Stillman sings lead vocals and plays tenor banjo, mandolin,
guitar, bagpipes, penny whistle, and harmonica.
He is also an accomplished tap, clog, and Irish step dancer and can
perform jigs, reels, and hornpipes -- occasionally upside down on
his hands. (click

Paul Byrne sings lead and harmonies while playing acoustic guitar, dobro,
or stratacaster. Paul’s
vibrant, smooth, and technically astounding solos are music not to
be missed.
|
Craig Babcock plays four tuned hand drums with a melodic technique of
his own invention. He
also doubles on electric bass, sings harmonies, and plays field
drum.

One of the special
features offered by Ceili Country is a bagpipe and drum band.
Richard plays bagpipes, Craig plays field drum, and Paul plays bodhran.
This can be most effective leading guests into a dining room, making a
grand entrance for a bride and groom, having
an impromptu parade of children or families, or simply beginning and ending an
evening of remarkable music. We are also readily available, for those who
prefer, without bagpipes.
